HIBAPRESS – MAP
The Royal Hajj Committee held its second meeting in Rabat on Tuesday for the 1447 AH Hajj season and reviewed the measures taken since the first meeting.
A statement from the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs stated that after discussing the points on the agenda, the Committee approved the final cost of Hajj for the 1447 AH season for pilgrims supervised by the Ministry at 63,021.00 dirhams, noting that this cost includes, for the first time, the obligatory sacrifice, set at 720 Saudi riyals (equivalent to 1770 dirhams), in implementation of the decision of the competent Saudi authorities to impose the payment of the obligatory sacrifice as a basic condition for obtaining Hajj visas. The same source added that Barid Bank services will refund the amount of 1979 dirhams to citizens who have previously paid the lump sum for Hajj expenses, set at 65,000 dirhams, within the list of pilgrims supervised by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, indicating that the refund of this amount will begin to the concerned citizens starting from Monday, March 9th, until Friday, March 20th, 2026. Regarding the 1448 AH Hajj season, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs indicated that citizens selected in the Hajj lottery for the 1448 AH season within the official organization list will pay a lump sum of 65,000.00 dirhams, similar to the previous two seasons, with the final cost of Hajj to be determined later, either by increase or decrease. The period for collecting Hajj expenses for 1448 AH at Barid Bank offices, for both organizations, has also been set from Monday, June 29th to Friday, July 10th, 2026.
