The national coach, Walid Regragui, bid farewell to the Moroccan fans today, Thursday, a few hours before the expected official announcement of his departure from coaching the national team and the revelation of the name that will succeed him in leading the "Atlas Lions" ship.
Regragui posted a video clip on his official Facebook page, reviewing the highlights he experienced with the national team during his time overseeing the technical staff. The video included footage from the historic path of the Moroccan national team in the 2022 World Cup, where they achieved an unprecedented achievement by reaching the semi-finals, in addition to scenes from the "Atlas Lions" journey in the 2025 African Cup of Nations finals, which ended in losing the final match. Regragui accompanied the clip with a brief comment that said: "Always Morocco… God, Country, King," before adding the word: "Thank you," with the hashtag "#fierte" which means "pride."
