The debate continues in local circles in the city of Khenifra regarding the outcome of local affairs management in recent years, especially with regard to the projects and achievements that the city has witnessed, and the extent of their connection to the work of the Municipal Council or the dynamism that the region has experienced recently.
A number of local affairs observers believe that a group of development workshops and initiatives that have emerged on the ground coincided significantly with the appointment of the current governor at the head of the Khenifra region, where the city witnessed during this period a noticeable movement in some files related to the rehabilitation of public spaces, improving infrastructure, and accelerating the pace of follow-up to a number of development projects.
In this context, some local actors consider that the interventions of the territorial administration played an important role in giving a new impetus to a number of projects that were awaiting activation, by following them up in the field and coordinating between the various relevant interests and institutions.
In contrast, followers emphasize that the management of local affairs remains a participatory responsibility between the various actors, foremost among them the Municipal Council as the elected institution in charge of managing the city, in addition to the role of the regional authorities in coordination, accompaniment, and ensuring the implementation of programs and development projects.
Between these data, the evaluation of the development outcome in the city of Khenifra remains a subject of debate between those who believe that the recent dynamism was mainly linked to the follow-up of the territorial administration, and those who consider that the collective work remains part of this management system, awaiting that these efforts will be reflected more on improving the living conditions of the population and enhancing the city's attractiveness in various fields.
