HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The wave of the fall of regimes and countries allied with Algeria and the "Polisario" front is accelerating. After the collapse of the Syrian regime at the end of 2024, and the fall of the Venezuelan president at the beginning of January 2026, then the head of the Supreme Guide of the Revolution in Iran at the end of February of the same year, the turn came on Cuba.
Trump said at the opening of the "Shield of the Americas" today, Saturday, that "Cuba is living its last moments," expecting "a big change" in that communist state, adding that he would take care of it after the end of the war against Iran. These changes at the level of the allied regimes of Algeria redraw the map of influence at the regional and international levels, as the El Mouradia Palace and with it the "Polisario" are suffering from unprecedented isolation. After finding itself forced to start a new page with Syria Ahmed El-Char, Algeria had no choice in the matter of Venezuela and Iran, because the El Mouradia Palace did not have the audacity to condemn or criticize or even comment on the steps of US President Donald Trump. It is expected that Algeria will adopt the same approach even if Trump takes similar measures regarding Cuba, which means that Morocco's eastern neighbor will remain alone in a changing world, which may force it to change many of the positions inherited from the time of the "Cold War". It is worth noting that these changes come in the context of the continuation of the negotiations regarding the implementation of UN Resolution 2797 regarding the settlement of the Moroccan Sahara dispute within the framework of self-government.
