The residents of Al-Marja district in Fez are suffering from increasing daily hardship due to the spread of stagnant water in a black spot and the foul odors emanating from "Souikat Al-Marja", a situation that has begun to provoke the residents' annoyance, given the environmental and health concerns accompanying it.
According to statements from a number of residents in the area, the accumulation of stagnant water in this space has become a recurring scene, especially in recent times, which has led to the emission of unpleasant odors that affect the quality of life in the neighborhood and cause continuous annoyance to the neighboring residents. Some residents point out that this situation may also contribute to the spread of insects, which raises concerns related to hygiene and the environment within the neighborhood, especially with the rise in temperatures at certain times. In this context, the affected people are demanding the intervention of the concerned authorities in order to ascertain the causes of this phenomenon and work to address it as soon as possible, whether by improving water drainage channels or carrying out regular cleaning and maintenance operations for the place. Local affairs followers believe that addressing such environmental problems remains linked to intensifying the efforts of the competent authorities and strengthening monitoring mechanisms and rapid intervention, in a way that ensures the preservation of the cleanliness of urban spaces and the improvement of the living conditions of the residents.
