The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today, Saturday, that American forces launched a large-scale, precision strike on the Iranian island of "Khark" overnight Friday-Saturday, during which more than 90 military targets were bombed.
CENTCOM explained, in a post on the X platform, that "American forces successfully bombed more than 90 Iranian military targets while preserving oil infrastructure." It indicated that the strike destroyed naval mine storage facilities, missile storage bunkers, and many other military sites. US President Donald Trump announced yesterday, Friday, that the US military had "completely destroyed" military targets on Khark Island. He also threatened to target the island's oil infrastructure if the Iranian regime attempted to disrupt the flow of navigation in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. The US President wrote via his social media platform (Truth Social): "I have chosen not to destroy the oil infrastructure on the island, but, if Iran or any other party takes any action, aimed at disrupting the free and safe passage of ships in the Strait of Hormuz, I will reconsider my decision immediately."
