HIBAPRESS – MAP
The Mohammed VI Foundation for Health Sciences organized, today, Saturday, at the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Bouskoura, a medical campaign for the treatment and removal of cataracts, as well as providing medical services for the population of Nouaceur Province.
This campaign, which was attended by the governor of Nouaceur province, Jalal Benhayoun, falls within the framework of a work program outlined on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, which includes organizing awareness campaigns and conducting examinations to detect diabetes and high blood pressure, in addition to medical and surgical services, especially cataract removal and circumcision.
These health services, organized in partnership with local health services, aim to raise citizens' awareness of the risks associated with these diseases, identify the initial stages of cataracts, and ensure that circumcision operations are performed in a safe medical environment.
On this occasion, the general manager of the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Bouskoura, affiliated with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Health Sciences, Chafik Kettani, said that this medical campaign constitutes the second phase of a campaign to examine and treat cataract removal in the Nouaceur region.
Mr. Kettani explained, in a statement to the Moroccan News Agency, that the first phase, which was organized last week, enabled 140 medical examinations, resulting in surgical interventions for 47 patients, adding that the second phase targets about 140 patients.
He continued that patients benefit from medical services such as eye exams in addition to consultations and examinations in the general medicine specialty, especially high blood pressure and diabetes, noting that appointments will be set for patients who need surgery during the following week.
He confirmed that, as part of paying special attention to patients, modern equipment was mobilized at the eye center affiliated with the Foundation, in addition to providing examination rooms and others for surgical operations.
In parallel with this, a circumcision campaign is organized for 120 children from the Nouaceur region, who have previously benefited from medical examinations before undergoing surgical operations.
According to Kettani, these medical campaigns fall within the framework of the social mission of the health institutions affiliated with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Health Sciences, which aims to bring health services closer to the local population.
Within the framework of this program, a campaign was organized to provide examinations for people with diabetes and high blood pressure at the two reference health centers of Ouled Saleh and Rahma on February 28, while another campaign was organized to remove cataracts at the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Bouskoura on March 7.
