Saudi club Al-Ittihad reacted to the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to crown the Moroccan national team with the title of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations instead of Senegal, following the controversy that accompanied the final match between the two sides.
CAF's decision changes the champion of the tournament. CAF had announced on Tuesday evening the withdrawal of the title from the Senegalese team and awarding it to Morocco, against the backdrop of the events that witnessed the final, a move that sparked wide reaction in football circles. Al-Ittihad celebrates En-Nesyri. The Saudi club hastened to celebrate the achievement, publishing through its official account on "Instagram" a composite image of its Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri carrying the cup of the tournament, in a symbolic reference to the coronation. Al-Ittihad attached the image with a comment that read: "The Atlas Lion receives titles and deserves them," expressing its pride in its international player.
Limited participation without goals. It is worth mentioning that En-Nesyri participated in the final between Morocco and Senegal as a substitute during the last ten minutes of regular time, but he was unable to score despite the extension of the match to extra time. In general, the Moroccan striker did not succeed in shaking the net during the tournament, despite participating in 7 matches, all of them as a substitute.
