The temporary work permit for others has become an important option for Moroccan immigrants who aspire to settle and work legally in Spain, thanks to the new Royal Decree No. (RD 1155/2024). This decree aims to facilitate the entry of foreigners into the Spanish labor market and ensure their access to professional and social rights legally, opening up great opportunities for them to adapt and integrate into Spanish society.
This permit combines residence and work within a legal framework, which guarantees foreigners, including Moroccans, the possibility of working with an official contract. However, obtaining this permit requires essential conditions, the most prominent of which are: entering Spain legally, obtaining a work contract from an employer within the country, and registering with social security within a period not exceeding three months, otherwise, the permit loses its validity.
This system is unique in its ability to combine paid work and self-employment, provided that self-employment does not affect the main job. The permit is also initially determined according to a specific geographical area and a specific profession, with some exceptions that may allow more flexibility in some cases.
In terms of duration, the permit is granted based on the duration of the work contract, provided that it does not exceed one year in the first stage. And if the period of residence exceeds six months, it becomes necessary to extract the Foreigner Identity Card (TIE) within a period not exceeding one month from the date of registration with social security.
On the other hand, the new system provides Moroccans holding a job search visa with the possibility of converting their visa into a residence and work permit as soon as they obtain a work contract, without the need to leave Spain, which enhances their chances of obtaining a job in the Spanish labor market.
The procedures for obtaining the permit are carried out through a series of steps, starting with contracting with an employer, followed by submitting the application to the immigration authorities by the employer, and then registering with social security to activate the permit. In the end, the residence card is extracted if the period of residence in Spain exceeds six months.
Thus, this procedure constitutes a valuable opportunity for Moroccan immigrants who want to settle and work in Spain legally and organized, especially in light of the increasing demand for labor in many sectors, which enhances their opportunities to integrate into the Spanish labor market and society in general.
