The province of Azilal woke up this morning, Monday, to a horrific traffic accident in the Sidi Boukhalef commune (Iwaridhen), specifically near the "Ilakat" douar, following the overturning of a double transport vehicle of the "Transit" type carrying a number of passengers.
According to field data, the accident resulted in the death of three people at the scene, while 17 others were injured with varying degrees of severity, some in critical condition. According to the same sources, the vehicle was coming from the Ait Bououli area (Ait Toutlin), before it veered off course and overturned under circumstances that are still unclear. Upon being notified of the accident, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of the Demnate brigade, accompanied by local authorities, moved to the accident site, where the injured were quickly transferred to the Demnate district hospital to receive the necessary treatment, while the bodies of the victims were transferred to the morgue to complete the legal procedures in force. The competent authorities also launched a thorough investigation under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, with the aim of determining the real causes and circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
