Casablanca will host, on March 25, 2026, a high-level professional and scientific meeting on the prospects for developing the Moroccan maritime sector, at the initiative of the Association of Graduates of the Higher Institute of Maritime Studies, in partnership with the institute itself, within the framework of the "Maritime Days" events.
This event, organized under the slogan "The Moroccan Maritime Sector: From Heritage to Future Prospects," comes in the context of enhancing the discussion on ways to revitalize the maritime economy, in line with the strategic orientations aimed at strengthening the logistical sovereignty of the Kingdom and building a competitive maritime fleet. The organizers are betting on making this meeting a platform for exchanging views between sector experts, decision-makers, professionals, and academics, in light of the rapid transformations taking place in maritime transport globally, and the challenges it poses at the level of competitiveness and restructuring of the sector. The meeting program includes an opening session followed by a panel discussion with the participation of a selection of the institute's graduates, including the Captain of the High Seas, Hammo El Jadioui, along with international experts in the maritime field, before opening the door for discussion with the audience to gather practical proposals for developing the sector. The organizers emphasize that this event goes beyond the academic nature, to form a practical contribution to developing an integrated vision for the advancement of the maritime sector, through the mobilization of national competencies and the promotion of innovation, in a way that supports Morocco's position as a regional maritime hub.
