HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyaoui
The Kikou commune, belonging to the Boulemane district, witnessed an intensive field intervention by local and security authorities today, Friday afternoon, as part of ongoing efforts to combat the phenomenon of livestock theft, which is noticeably increasing with the approach of Eid al-Adha.
According to local data, the head of the Kikou command initiated immediate action after receiving information indicating that a herd of 54 sheep had been stolen from the Tiloulout area, located on the border with the Ifrane province. Consequently, tight coordination was established with the Royal Gendarmerie elements at the Kikou territorial center, supported by elements of the Auxiliary Forces and local authorities, along with the effective participation of the local population. The large-scale combing operation of the area resulted in positive results, as the stolen herd was found and fully recovered, while the suspects managed to escape to an unknown destination. In this context, a judicial investigation was opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, with the aim of identifying and arresting the perpetrators, and arranging the necessary legal penalties against them. This operation falls within the proactive approach adopted by the regional and local authorities, aimed at enhancing security and combating various forms of crime, and ensuring the protection of citizens' property, especially during periods of increased demand for livestock.
