On Friday, the Canadian Senate highlighted the competencies and creativity of young Moroccans and their contribution to enhancing the Kingdom's influence, on the occasion of a meeting organized on the initiative of the National Council for the Integration of Moroccan World Talents.
This event, which brought together young people from the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation, research, as well as project holders, hailing from Morocco and Canada, formed a distinguished platform to present inspiring initiatives, share experiences, and explore new ways of cooperation in the fields of technology, social economy, education, environment, and culture. This meeting, organized in collaboration with the Moroccan Embassy in Ottawa, also provided an opportunity to highlight the care that His Majesty King Mohammed VI continues to give to young Moroccans. In this regard, the Moroccan Ambassador to Canada, Souriya Otmani, confirmed that His Majesty the King has placed youth at the heart of national priorities and the comprehensive development project of the Kingdom of Morocco, calling for the mobilization of all their creative talents and energies. The diplomat said that “special attention is being paid to young people through the promotion of quality education, vocational training, and access to employment,” reminding that His Majesty the King has always emphasized the importance of empowering young people with modern tools, competencies, and the necessary opportunities to contribute to the various economic and social development projects that the Kingdom is witnessing. Otmani added, during this meeting which was particularly distinguished by the participation of Canadian Senator Amina Gerba and many local elected officials, that every time young Moroccans were given the opportunity to showcase their talents and competencies, their seriousness and perseverance managed to attract the world's attention and demonstrate exceptional performance, whether in the field of education, research and development, the business world and entrepreneurship, as well as in the field of culture or sports. In Canada, the ambassador adds, young Moroccans from the community are distinguished by their higher education, the quality of their training, their good integration and their involvement in the host society, as well as their firm attachment to their home country, its culture and traditions, adding that about four thousand young Moroccans are pursuing their studies in universities and other higher education institutions across Canadian territory. For her part, Salma Rakkaki, President of the National Council for the Integration of Moroccan World Talents, highlighted that Moroccan youth embodies an “exceptional” wealth. Rakkaki pointed out that Moroccan youth combines multiple identities, is strengthened by a dual cultural affiliation, and carries a renewed vision of contemporary challenges, noting that these young people excel in key areas, such as technology, entrepreneurship, scientific research and social innovation. She noted that, in addition to individual successes, their ability to build bridges, connect ideas and inspire future generations is also commendable. This event, organized around the theme “Youth and Innovation in Canada,” was also an opportunity to celebrate the dynamism of the leading youth, encourage cultural exchange and strengthen bridges between Canada and Morocco on future challenges.
