The industrial zone of Ouled Bourhama, near Kenitra, was shaken by a violent assault, documented in a video circulating on social media, showing a bus driver transporting workers attacking a truck driver with a club, following a dispute over right-of-way.
According to the circulating data, the assault resulted in the driver being injured on the head, which necessitated his transfer to the hospital to receive the necessary first aid, while the video caused widespread shock and condemnation by the public. The same data indicated that elements of the Royal Gendarmerie in Kenitra intervened to arrest the suspect later that day, where he was placed under custody, pending the judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor's office. The incident brought back to the forefront the debate about the manifestations of chaos that some traffic axes experience, especially in industrial areas, and what is related to the reckless behavior of some drivers of workers' transport buses, amid calls for stricter control and the strengthening of road safety measures to reduce such incidents.
