HIBAPRESS
The Egyptian art scene bids farewell to one of its most familiar faces, with the passing of the artist Fatma Koshry, who passed away on Sunday evening after battling health crises in her later years.
It is expected that the deceased's body will be taken after the noon prayer today, Monday, from the Martyrs Mosque in Ahmed Helmy Square, where she will be buried, after a career full of art during which she left a special mark on the audience, confirming that the value of the artist is not measured by the size of the roles, but by his ability to touch the conscience of the viewers.
Despite her simple presence, the deceased succeeded in being a distinctive mark in every work in which she participated, adding to Egyptian drama and cinema a sincere realistic character, which made her enjoy widespread love.
Behind her spontaneous smile, Fatma Koshry lived a career full of challenges, as she faced great difficulties in her beginnings, especially on the family level, because of her husband's opposition to her acting profession, which exposed her to psychological and physical troubles, but she clung to her passion for art, and continued her journey with insistence.
Her married life continued for nearly 37 years, before she passed away, leaving behind an artistic legacy that includes a number of theatrical works and roles that will remain witnesses to an honest artistic experience, in which she embodied the meaning of steadfastness and devotion to art.
