Well-informed sources told “Heba Press” that there is a summary list of the work of the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Interior, which includes a number of names of men of authority and their deputies in several regions and areas of the Kingdom involved in facilitating or approving the drilling of wells and water reservoirs outside the framework of the law regulating the sector, and provides for disciplinary sanctions for violators in their spheres of influence, approval is expected from the Minister of Interior, Abdel Wafi Laftit.
The same sources confirmed that, in preparing their reports, the inspectors used data provided by the water police affiliated with the river basins of several regions, to identify territorial officials, including leaders involved in the opening of random wells.
These completed reports also included data from authorities officials, after monitoring a small number of authorized wells in land communities, compared to hundreds of drilling sites and water points that were secretly dug in areas of random construction in land communities, particularly by owners of illegal warehouses.
The same sources indicated that the investigations carried out revealed suspicions of collusion between territorial officials and agents of the authority with collective consultants who own small drilling companies and equipment rental for this activity, which has led to the widespread use of wells and water points without permits in certain areas.
