HIBAPRESS – A. Muhayyawi
In a surprise move, the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports has dismissed the regional director of education in the Ifrane region, along with the regional director in the Sefrou region, against the backdrop of what was described as the existence of irregularities and improper management of some educational and administrative files.
According to informed sources, these decisions come within the framework of activating good governance mechanisms and linking responsibility with accountability, especially in light of the challenges facing the education sector at the regional level. The ministry also aims to reorganize the internal structure and enhance efficiency in managing educational affairs. In anticipation of opening the competition for these positions according to the applicable legal procedures, the Regional Academy for Education and Training of the Fez-Meknes region decided to temporarily assign the management tasks to heads of departments within the academy, to ensure the continuity of the public utility and the non-impact on the normal functioning of educational institutions. Observers believe that this step reflects the ministry's trend towards enhancing transparency and accountability within the educational system, especially in light of the reforms witnessed by the sector, which places improving the quality of education at the heart of its priorities. It is expected that these decisions will provoke wide reactions in educational circles, pending the disclosure of additional details regarding the nature of the recorded irregularities, as well as the results of the upcoming competition to fill these positions.
