HIBAPRESS – Kenitra
A number of social media users circulated a video claiming the extraction of a liquid substance, likely to be oil, from a well designated for drinking water in one of the villages near Kenitra.
In this regard, “HIBAPRESS” went to the scene to verify the incident, where it turned out that the circulated video is old, dating back to 2020, and not recent as some people are promoting. A well-known activist, known as “Free Facebooker”, had published a clip showing the flow of the liquid after starting a pump, with the emission of a strong smell similar to diesel, which prompted him and those present to notify the Royal Gendarmerie and the competent authorities who arrived at the scene, where an investigation was opened at the time. Those concerned in the video confirmed that the extracted material is not ordinary, describing it as "liquid oil", expressing their readiness to repeat the experiment in the field in front of any official body wishing to verify, using simple equipment such as a pump or a tractor. This clarification comes after the re-circulation of the video sparked widespread controversy among social media users, while sources stressed the need to verify the accuracy of information before publishing it, especially in the current circumstances.
