Around 180 passengers resumed their flight to the city of Tangier on Friday evening after an emergency stop that lasted for more than 24 hours at an airport in Italy, following the landing of a plane belonging to the "Air Arabia" company that was coming from Turkey.
The flight was forced to land at Rome Fiumicino Airport on Thursday due to a medical emergency of one of the passengers, which necessitated urgent intervention and changing the plane's course towards the nearest airport. During the stop, the passengers were disembarked and kept inside the airport, where they spent hours of anticipation and anxiety, especially in the absence of sufficient communication from the flight crew, according to what a number of passengers reported. Some passengers indicated that the incident began after one of the passengers announced that he had suffered a sudden health ailment, which necessitated the emergency landing, before the flight turned into a difficult experience due to the long waiting period and lack of clarity of the data. A number of passengers demanded that "Air Arabia" company provide official clarifications about the circumstances of the incident and the procedures that were taken during the stop, especially regarding the conditions of accommodation and communication with the passengers. The flight was rescheduled on Friday evening, where the passengers resumed their flight to Tangier after nearly a full day of emergency stop.
