HIBAPRESS – Follow-up
The White House firmly denied on Tuesday its intention to use nuclear weapons in Iran, in a message published on an account affiliated with it on the "X" platform.
The message stated, "Nothing that the Vice President said here hints at that, you big clowns." The White House's position came in response to a post on "X" that goes back to an account linked to former Vice President Kamala Harris, who published a video statement by US Vice President J.D. Vance during his visit to Budapest, accompanied by the phrase, "J.D. Vance confirms Trump's position after his recent message in which he said that (an entire civilization will die tonight), hinting that Trump may use nuclear weapons." Vance warned today that the United States has "tools" to deal with Iran "that we have not yet decided to use," expressing his hope that negotiations would spare Washington from resorting to them. He told reporters during a visit to Hungary that "the United States has largely achieved its military goals (in Iran)," adding that the coming hours would witness "intensive negotiations" before the deadline set by Washington for Iran at 00:00 GMT, Wednesday. He added, "They must know that we have tools in our arsenal that we have not yet decided to use. The President of the United States can decide to use them and will decide to use them if the Iranians do not change their approach." This comes while Donald Trump threatened Iran on Tuesday with the elimination of its "entire civilization," just hours before the deadline of his ultimatum for it to agree to an agreement to end the war. Trump wrote on his "Truth Social" platform: "An entire civilization will die tonight, and it will never return. I don't want that, but it will probably happen." The US President threatened widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure in Iran, including bridges and power generation stations, if an agreement is not reached by that time. Even before the ultimatum expired, infrastructure was targeted in several Iranian locations on Tuesday, including two bridges. Raids were also carried out on Kharg Island in the Gulf, which is of vital importance to the Iranian oil sector, according to the Iranian "Mehr" news agency, while American media reported that Washington bombed exclusively military targets in these strikes.
