The prefecture of Taza province witnessed, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, a wide-ranging coordination meeting chaired by the governor of the province, Rachid Benchikhi, which was devoted to discussing the mechanisms for activating the strategy of the regional multi-service company "Fez-Meknes", in the presence of various territorial stakeholders and representatives of decentralized services, in addition to the company's General Manager, Mohamed Chawi.
This meeting falls within the framework of the trends aimed at modernizing the methods of managing public utilities, especially in the fields of water, electricity, and liquid sanitation, where the features of the expected investment program for the year 2026 were identified, as well as the broad outlines of the action plan extending until 2030, which enhances the quality of services and brings them closer to citizens. In his intervention, the governor of the province highlighted the importance of this meeting as a foundational step to activate the company's role at the territorial level, stressing that the success of this workshop remains dependent on the involvement of all actors and the coordination of their interventions, especially with regard to the rehabilitation of infrastructure and ensuring the continuity of essential services, with a focus on reducing disparities between urban and rural areas. He also called for the consecration of the principle of spatial justice in the distribution of services, in line with national trends aimed at strengthening water and energy security, and improving the quality of life of citizens, through a more efficient and integrated management model. For its part, the regional multi-service company presented a detailed technical presentation, which included an accurate diagnosis of the supply situation in the province, in addition to a review of the completed projects, and the expected programs during the current year, for which a significant financial envelope of 538 million dirhams was allocated, distributed across the water, liquid sanitation, and electricity sectors. The meeting was an opportunity for the heads of the territorial communities to raise various field issues facing the generalization of essential services, especially in rural areas, while emphasizing the need to accelerate the pace of implementation and improve the quality of management. The meeting concluded with an emphasis on organizing field visits and periodic meetings during the coming weeks in various regions of the province, with the aim of closely monitoring the needs of the population, and enhancing the effectiveness of technical interventions, in order to ensure the continuity and upgrading of essential services.
