HIBAPRESS
Morocco and Niger, on Wednesday, April 8th in Niamey, reaffirmed their shared will to make their partnership an exceptional model for African cooperation.
The two parties, in a joint statement issued after the fifth session of the Joint Cooperation Committee, which was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Nigeriens Abroad, Bakary Yaou Sangaré, affirmed their shared will to make bilateral relations an exceptional model for African cooperation, based on the values of effective solidarity, the exchange of good practices, mutual trust, and the fair sharing of benefits. The two ministers also reiterated their determination to further strengthen and diversify bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic and commercial fields, as well as their common ambition to develop an innovative partnership between the public and private sectors that benefits both parties and that would serve as a reference in South-South cooperation on the African continent. In this context, the fifth session of the Joint Cooperation Committee was an opportunity to sign 14 agreements and memoranda of understanding, covering a wide range of important sectors, such as road and rail transport, road safety, logistics, infrastructure, trade, industry, agriculture, spatial planning and housing, youth, judicial cooperation and the transfer of convicted persons, as well as academic and vocational training. The discussions between the two ministers also enabled them to review various issues of common interest, both bilaterally and regionally, in a spirit of consultation and convergence of views. At the end of these works, Mr. Bourita and Mr. Sangaré praised the pace of the well-established bilateral cooperation, which they described as fruitful and beneficial to both parties, as well as the promising prospects for diversifying and strengthening this partnership in all fields.
