HIBAPRESS – Rabat
A document circulating on social media, which includes the conditions for purchasing tires from Naftal stations, sparked a wide wave of ridicule and sarcastic comments among activists.
The document, titled "Tire Sales Documents," shows that customers wishing to purchase tires are required to provide a copy of the car's gray card, a copy of the owner's driving license, as well as the need to have an electronic bank payment method. Despite the fact that the conditions come in a context in which the country is experiencing an unprecedented shortage of car tires, a number of commentators considered these conditions to be "exaggerated" compared to the nature of the product, questioning the usefulness of linking the purchase of tires to personal administrative documents. In contrast, the reactions were not without a sarcastic tone, as some activists compared the process to a "complete administrative file" to purchase a simple product, while others wondered if the move was a prelude to imposing similar conditions on other goods.
