The judicial police elements of the Marrakech security directorate managed, on Tuesday, April 14, to arrest a 35-year-old person with a criminal record, for suspected involvement in a case of fraud.
According to preliminary data, the person in question is suspected of luring a number of victims through false promises related to securing travel, registration, and residency to study in one of the Asian countries, where he collected money from them before they were surprised, upon their arrival, that they were victims of a fraud operation, as they were registered in language learning courses and housed in inappropriate conditions. The investigations and inquiries carried out enabled the arrest of the suspect, as well as the identification of a second person suspected of participating in this criminal activity. The suspect has been placed in custody, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, in order to deepen the investigation and uncover all the circumstances and details of the case, while investigations are still ongoing to arrest the second suspect after fully identifying him.
