The Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed today, Saturday, the continuation of its strict measures in the Strait of Hormuz due to the ongoing American blockade of Iranian ports.
The spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters of the Revolutionary Guard, Ebrahim Zulfiqari, said in a statement: "Unfortunately, the Americans, due to their repeated non-compliance, continue maritime piracy under the name of the blockade, and because of that, control over the Strait of Hormuz has been restored to its previous state." He pointed out that "this strategic strait is under strict control and management by the armed forces." He added: "The situation will remain under strict control until the United States ends the restrictions imposed on the freedom of movement of ships from and to Iran, whether from or to Iranian ports, and until then, the situation will remain as it is under strict surveillance." He continued: "The Islamic Republic of Iran announced, based on previous understandings in the negotiations and with good intentions, that it had agreed to the passage of a limited number of oil tankers and commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz in a managed manner."
