HIBAPRESS – A. Muhyawi
The Justice and Development Party (PJD) decided, on the afternoon of Sunday, April 19, on an important part of its list of candidates to run in the upcoming legislative elections in September, during the work of the regional general assembly, in an organizational step that reflects the acceleration of the pace of preparations for the upcoming elections.
This meeting comes in the context of an internal dynamic launched by the party at the national level, which aims to select candidates according to structured organizational procedures, in a way that enhances the principles of transparency and internal democracy in managing nominations.
The party's deliberations resulted in the endorsement of a number of names to lead its electoral lists in a number of constituencies, where it was decided to push Muhammad Khay in the Fez constituency, and Abdullah Bouanou in Meknes, along with Ali Al-Asri in Taounat, Osama Al-Muhammadi in Sefrou, and Jamal Madani in Ifrane.
Other names were also endorsed within the local lists, including Abdelhak Al-Saidi, as part of the party's efforts to cover various constituencies with candidates who combine experience and organizational competence.
Regarding the Taza constituency, the general assembly resulted in a remarkable competition between a number of names, where Muhammad Baziz topped the voting results by obtaining 35 votes, followed by Khalid Bougrica, and Ahmed Bouda, the regional secretary of the party, in addition to Tariq Mazian Matalisi and Muhammad Al-Takfawi.
Despite this arrangement, the final decision on the name of the list agent in the Taza constituency remains in the hands of the party's central leadership, which is expected to announce its decision in the coming period.
Observers believe that these nominations reflect a trend within the party towards rearranging its ranks and strengthening its presence in the local political scene, especially after the decline it recorded during the previous electoral entitlements.
The party also relies on a mix of faces with field experience and new ones, in an attempt to restore the confidence of voters and achieve positive results during the September elections.
With these steps, the Justice and Development Party has put in place initial features for its electoral battle, pending the completion of the remaining endorsements and the decision in the constituencies that are still under discussion, at the forefront of which is the Taza constituency.
