The Moroccan Capital Markets Authority (AMMC) is organizing the first edition of the "Capital Markets Symposium" from October 5 to 9, 2026, at its headquarters in Rabat. This event will bring together 35 representatives from 10 capital markets regulatory authorities in the Africa and Middle East region.
This forum, designed as a platform for peer-to-peer experience exchange, is part of the regional cooperation dynamic led by the Moroccan Capital Markets Authority, based on a proximity and partnership approach. It also embodies the Authority's commitment to strengthening the capacities of regulatory bodies in its partner countries and solidifies Morocco's role as a reference player at the regional level. In a context of increasing economic interconnectedness and faster risk dissemination, cooperation among regulatory authorities is a key lever, enabling anticipation of developments, sharing of expertise, and promotion of regulatory convergence. The program, which covers the entire capital market value chain, focuses on key themes: regulatory frameworks and governance, supervision of intermediaries and asset management, market infrastructures, surveillance and sanctions, financial information and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, innovation and digitalization, and investor protection. This forum also offers participants an exceptionally practical and innovative approach by delving into the Moroccan experience, based on initiated reforms and tangible achievements of the national market, as presented by the Moroccan Capital Markets Authority and the ecosystem players who have led them. The program also benefits from the expertise of the Moroccan Capital Markets Authority's international partners, such as the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and the World Bank. As a unique initiative in the region, the "Capital Markets Symposium" aspires to become an annual event, contributing to the emergence of a regional group of regulatory authorities united by common challenges and a single ambition: to build robust capital markets that serve economic financing and regional development.
