As part of the efforts to promote mental and psychological health within educational institutions, the governor of the Inzegane Ait Melloul province, on Saturday, October 17th, supervised the launch of an awareness campaign. The campaign began at Al-Anwar Preparatory School in the municipality of Temsia, where the progress of the awareness campaign targeting students in difficult situations was reviewed. The campaign involved educational staff, social support specialists, and facilitators of resource rooms for rehabilitation and support.
This initiative, overseen by the Moroccan Association for Child and Adolescent Psychology and Related Professions (AMPSY MAROC), is part of a partnership between public institutions, civil society actors, and health professionals, with support from the National Initiative for Human Development under the program for accompanying individuals in vulnerable situations.
The program also included an awareness workshop for students at Othman Ibn Affan Preparatory School in the municipality of Oulad Dahou. Medical staff and specialists participated, including Sarah Hay, a speech and hearing specialist and volunteer, who is contributing to supporting this initiative with its educational and social dimension.
The campaign aims to instill awareness of the importance of mental health among children and adolescents, prevent psychological and behavioral disorders, and strengthen mechanisms for listening, accompaniment, and psychological and social support, which will help improve the school environment and reduce school dropout and manifestations of deviation.
This initiative emphasizes the importance of coordination between families, schools, health sectors, and specialized associations to ensure early intervention, support students experiencing difficult situations, and provide a safer and more stable educational environment.
