Lightning strike kills player, injures others during soccer match in Peru (video)

A soccer match in Peru witnessed a horrific moment: one player was killed and five others were injured after being struck by a lightning bolt during the match.
Video clips showed 39-year-old José Hugo de la Cruz Meza falling to the ground moments after the referee decided to stop the match.
He was killed instantly as thunder echoed throughout the stadium, according to British newspaper The Times.

Goalkeeper Juan Chuca Lacta also suffered direct shock and was taken to hospital by taxi after being badly burned.
As for the other victims, they are two teenagers aged 16 and 19 and a young man aged 24, and they were classified in a “stable” condition in hospital after the unfortunate accident that occurred yesterday .
