US President Donald Trump will receive envoys from both Israel and Lebanon during a second round of diplomatic talks to be held on Thursday at the White House, according to a US official.
Media sources clarified that "talks at the ambassadorial level between Israel and Lebanon will be held inside the White House," in a move that reflects the continuation of efforts to manage outstanding files between the two sides through direct diplomatic channels. It added that President Trump will receive the representatives of the two countries upon their arrival, as part of following up on this negotiating path, which witnesses a new round of discussions between the two parties, amid American interest in the success of these meetings. These talks come in the context of ongoing diplomatic moves aimed at containing tensions between the two sides, and opening direct communication channels under US supervision, allowing for the discussion of contentious issues within an organized political framework.
