Mohammed Chouki affirmed today, Saturday, that the government's record cannot be reduced to numbers or presentations of achievements, but rather represents a complete path for a country that has faced difficult circumstances, including drought, inflation, global crises, and the effects of wars on the economy, in addition to the pressure on citizens' purchasing power.
Chouki explained, in his speech during the National Forum of Traders and Craftsmen of the Rally of National Independents in Casablanca, that the government chose from the beginning to confront challenges instead of merely reacting, considering that it bet on changing the methodology of work and moving to a logic of initiative. He pointed out that the government's work was based on three main priorities, which were to maintain the balance of the national economy, build the social state in a tangible way, and restore confidence in political work by taking responsibility and making clear decisions. In his presentation of the figures, he stated that direct social support benefits about 4 million families, i.e. more than 12 million citizens, at a cost of approximately 52 billion dirhams, considering that this constitutes a shift towards consolidating the social right. He also pointed out that the state bears between 30 and 40 billion dirhams annually to support basic materials, with the aim of alleviating the burden on citizens. He added that the government has worked to improve the salaries of more than a million employees at a total cost of 46 billion dirhams, within the framework of supporting the middle class, highlighting that health coverage has been generalized to benefit more than 22 million Moroccans, in addition to the rehabilitation of more than 1,400 health centers. In the education sector, he pointed out that 3.4 million students benefit from direct financial support, with the expansion of school transport services and boarding schools, and the launch of reforms that concerned the situations of more than 114,000 teachers. The speaker stressed that these measures fall within an integrated vision aimed at protecting the dignity of the citizen and enhancing social stability, stressing that the government assumes its full responsibility, both in what has been achieved and in the challenges that are still present, within the framework of what he described as a profound shift in the way the state intervenes towards a model closer to the citizen.
