HIBAPRESS – Follow-up
Secret Service agents were forced to escort US President Donald Trump out of the Hilton Hotel ballroom in Washington on Saturday evening during the White House Correspondents' Dinner, after the sound of gunfire was heard inside the hotel.
Footage showed the moment Trump was escorted out of the hall quickly, amid a state of confusion among the attendees, who took cover in their places as soon as a loud sound was heard. The evacuation also included Vice President JD Vance and a number of senior officials, while the details of the security incident were not yet fully clear. The "Agence France-Presse" reported that the sounds of gunshots were heard in the hotel lobby, while "Fox News" confirmed the arrest of the suspect before he could reach the hall. For its part, CNN reported that Trump and members of his administration were in good condition, without any injuries recorded.
