The Attorney General at the Court of Appeal in Rabat placed a gendarme with the rank of "Adjudant," who enjoys judicial authority, under custody after being suspected of involvement in a bribery case.
According to available data, the person in question, who performs his duties at the Judicial Center of the Royal Gendarmerie in Boulaouane, was arrested on Sunday, May 3, by elements of the National Brigade of Judicial Investigations of the Royal Gendarmerie, within the framework of a judicial security operation. Information indicates that the security operation came after a notification received by the Public Prosecution regarding the gendarme's conduct, which led to the opening of an investigation that resulted in his arrest inside his office while he was receiving a sum of 30,000 dirhams from a client. The suspect was held in custody pending the investigation supervised by the competent Public Prosecution, in order to determine all the circumstances of the case, before referring him to justice.
