Tahraoui said that "the Kingdom of Morocco, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is undergoing a profound transformation in its health system, which is based on strengthening infrastructure, valuing human capital, and accelerating digital transformation," stressing the importance of opening up to qualitative international partnerships to ensure equitable access to quality treatment services. Under this memorandum, the two parties are committed to enhancing cooperation in the areas of research and development, especially by intensifying early detection programs for chronic diseases, and developing digital health solutions based on artificial intelligence, in addition to investing "real-world data" to improve health decision-making and guide medical studies. The agreement also includes supporting the continuous training of health professionals and developing their competencies in digital and research fields, as well as exploring ways to expand the scope of the "Heart Health in Africa" initiative, with the aim of improving the management of cardiovascular and kidney diseases through modern care models and technology-supported health services. For his part, Ramy Iskandar, President of AstraZeneca in the Middle East and North Africa, said that this partnership "reflects the company's long-term commitment to Morocco, by supporting initiatives based on scientific innovation and digital technology," stressing the keenness to enhance the sustainability of the health system and ensure equal opportunities in access to modern treatments. This agreement places the Kingdom's health sovereignty and the protection of personal data and ethics related to scientific research at the heart of its priorities, which enhances Morocco's position as a regional player in the field of health innovation and ensures a sustainable positive impact on public health.
