The market is known for its extensive activity in selling used tires, car spare parts, engines, and mechanical equipment, leading to a state of high alert among traders and neighboring residents.
Local sources indicated that the flames spread rapidly among the shops and storage points, given the presence of flammable materials, rubber tires, engines, and oils, which contributed to the expansion of the fire and caused significant material losses. Upon being informed of the incident, Civil Defense elements intervened, supported by vehicles and tanker trucks, continuing their intensive efforts until the early hours of Thursday morning to contain the fire and prevent its spread to the remaining facilities and neighboring shops. Local authorities and security services also mobilized their various elements at the scene to secure the fire's perimeter and organize traffic, while an investigation was launched to determine the circumstances and details surrounding the outbreak of this incident.
