The head of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Hayya, announced that his son was seriously injured due to an Israeli bombing that targeted the Al-Daraj neighborhood east of Gaza City, considering that Israel "wants to take what it wants through pressure, killing, and terrorism".
Al-Hayya said on Wednesday in statements to Al-Jazeera channel, published by the movement's website, that his son Azzam was seriously injured, while Hamza Al-Sharbasi was martyred in "the treacherous targeting carried out by the Zionist occupation this evening in the Al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City." He added: "This criminal targeting is an extension of the Zionist aggression against our people everywhere, and an extension of the targeting of the Palestinian negotiating delegation, which was on September 9 (2025) in the Qatari capital, Doha," considering that Israel "wants to take what it wants through pressure, killing, and terrorism." He continued: "I say to the occupation and to all who hear us, we are the people of a cause that will not be intimidated by the killing of sons or the martyrdom of leaders, for our sons are the sons of the Palestinian people, and my son and the son of others are all from the sons of our people without discrimination, and our feelings are one towards them."
