HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Baraka
The Royal Gendarmerie elements in the Essaouira brigade were able to arrest three people suspected of belonging to a criminal gang, following the circulation of a video via social media documenting their appearance while carrying bladed weapons and issuing threats and provocations directed at the gendarmerie elements.
This security operation came within the framework of the gendarmerie's interaction with digital content that sparked widespread condemnation, where it initiated its field and technical investigations, which enabled the identification of the suspects and their arrest in a short time. The search operation carried out in this case resulted in the seizure of a "BMW" car that was used in the gang members' movements, in addition to quantities of hard drugs, including cocaine, hallucinogenic pills, as well as a group of bladed weapons and three fierce dogs that are likely to be used in criminal activities. The detainees have been placed under custody under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, pending the deepening of the investigation to reveal all the potential extensions of this criminal network, with the continuation of efforts to arrest the remaining alleged perpetrators.
