HIBAPRESS – A. Muhyawi

Within the framework of advocating for infrastructure issues and regional development in the Taounate province, parliamentary advisor Mustafa El-Maisouri from the National Rally of Independents party, addressed a verbal question to the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, in the House of Councillors, through which he called for urgent intervention to break the isolation and improve the road infrastructure in a number of communities belonging to the Ghafsai – Al-Qarya district in the Taounate province.

El-Maisouri confirmed that a number of road projects and bridges completed in the region are still without real benefit, due to the lack of accompanying road preparation, pointing specifically to the two bridges located in the village of Ba Mohamed, which connect the communities of Lmkanessa and Oulad Daoud in the village of Ba Mohamed, but the weakness of the infrastructure and the paths leading to them prevents the population from benefiting from them as required. The parliamentary advisor clarified that the residents of the mountainous and rural areas of the province suffer daily from the fragility of roads and unpaved paths, especially during periods of rainfall, where many road axes turn into difficult and dangerous paths, which increases the suffering of citizens and negatively affects their daily movements and economic and social activities in the region. The speaker also stressed that a number of vital roads in the Fes-Meknes region, especially in the vast Taounate province, have become in a deteriorated condition that requires urgent intervention from the Ministry of Equipment and Water, calling on Minister Nizar Baraka to pay special attention to the roads located in the districts of Al-Qarya, Ghafsai, Tissa, Tamdhit, and Taounate, given their importance in connecting rural communities and breaking the isolation of the population. El-Maisouri also demanded the rehabilitation of regional road No. 501 linking four provinces, namely Moulay Yacoub, Ba Mohamed village, Ouezzane and Sidi Kacem, in addition to road No. 506, which connects the provinces of Sidi Kacem and Taounate through the Moulay Yacoub province and the Lmkanessa community, along with the regional road linking the Bouchabel community and the Moulay Yacoub province. In the same context, the parliamentary advisor called for studying the possibility of classifying these road axes and integrating them into the national road network, given the vital role they play in enhancing mobility, driving the wheel of local development, and improving the living conditions of the rural population in the various communities of the province.
