HIBAPRESS – By A. Mahyawi
Jawad El Kaabi, one of the Moroccan talents residing abroad, expressed his disappointment with the reality of political practice in Morocco, criticizing what he described as "the dominance of the same faces in decision-making centers" and the lack of equal opportunities for new energies, especially the competencies of Moroccans residing abroad who wish to contribute to public affairs.
El Kaabi affirmed, in a clarification addressed to the public, that he does not belong to any political party, pointing out that the various initiatives and activities he carried out within Morocco came within the framework of civil contribution and interaction with community issues, based on his conviction of the importance of involving national competencies in public debate and contributing to local development. The speaker explained that his field experience led him to record a set of observations related to the way political work is managed, considering that the mechanisms for choosing electoral responsibilities and arranging within the lists are often subject to a closed logic that limits the renewal of elites and perpetuates the continuity of the same names for many years, at a time when the social and economic challenges that require, in his words, greater openness to new competencies are increasing. In a review of some of his civil initiatives, El Kaabi referred to his contribution to raising the file of isolation suffered by the "Fadaat Al Saada" subdivision in the city of Fez, through correspondence and follow-up with territorial groups and local authorities, with the aim of improving public transport services in the region, stressing that these efforts contributed to achieving tangible results for the benefit of the population. He also spoke about organizing communication meetings and seminars of a social and human rights nature, including a scientific symposium on the rights of persons with disabilities under Law 13-93, with the participation of academic and association actors, in addition to an initiative related to sports diplomacy, the aim of which was to host African personalities to enhance the image of Morocco and openness to issues of African cooperation. In the same context, El Kaabi pointed out that a number of initiatives he sought to launch collided, in his words, with organizational and managerial constraints that prevented their implementation in the way he aspired to, considering that these experiences established in him a conviction of the urgent need to review the mechanisms of political and institutional work, in a way that guarantees more transparency and equal opportunities. Jawad El Kaabi concluded that his position does not target any particular party, but rather falls within the expression of a personal experience and a general vision towards the reality of political participation, stressing that hope for reform and change remains, provided that a real will is available that opens the field for various national competencies to contribute to serving the public interest.
