Search and rescue teams of the Royal Armed Forces concluded, on Tuesday evening, extensive combing operations in the "Cap Draa" area north of the Tan-Tan region, after finding the body of the second American soldier who went missing days ago, following an accidental incident that occurred on the sidelines of the "African Lion 2026" maneuvers.
According to local sources, the location of the body was identified in a rocky and rugged area overlooking the Cap Draa heights, after days of intensive search operations that included the maritime and air domains, with the participation of various specialized services. Joint teams participated in the combing operations, including elements from the Civil Protection, including divers and rescue swimmers, in addition to units from the Royal Armed Forces and local authorities, where significant logistical and human capabilities were harnessed to reach the missing person and end the state of alert that the region had experienced since the incident. The great efforts made by the Civil Protection and the Royal Armed Forces received widespread praise, as the high readiness and the tight field coordination that accompanied the search and combing operations were noted.
