In the framework of continuous efforts to combat smuggling and illegal trade, elements of the judicial police services of the Royal Gendarmerie in the Berkane brigade, today, Saturday, October 24, based on accurate and equipped information, managed to thwart illegal activity inside a secret warehouse located in the city of Ahfir.
Local sources stated that the qualitative operation resulted in the discovery of large quantities of smuggled car and motorcycle spare parts from abroad, in addition to all-terrain vehicles. Data indicated that these equipment were imported disassembled before being assembled inside the warehouse and resold in the black market. The seized items and equipment were transported via three tow trucks (depannage) to the headquarters of the Royal Gendarmerie brigade in Berkane to undergo legal procedures and applicable regulations. This security strike comes to confront the risks arising from the circulation of these unlicensed vehicles and spare parts, which often cause legal problems and hit-and-run accidents on the roads.
