US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he decided to postpone an attack scheduled for Iran next Tuesday, indicating that the decision came in response to a request from the leaders of the Gulf states, in light of the ongoing negotiations with Tehran.
Trump explained, in a post via the “Truth Social” platform, that Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE requested to give additional chance for diplomatic efforts, considering that reaching an agreement with Iran is still possible. In contrast, the US President stressed that the United States is ready to carry out a “comprehensive and wide-ranging attack” against Iran at any moment, if an agreement is not reached that guarantees Tehran does not possess nuclear weapons. For its part, Iran announced that it had responded to a new American proposal to end the war, confirming the continuation of communication with Washington, despite Iranian media describing some American demands as "excessive."
