On the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha, and considering the religious and social dimensions that this happy occasion entails, the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration announced that it has been decided to enable prisoners to have one family visit and receive a food basket from their relatives who are allowed to visit, as well as diplomatic and consular representations for foreign prisoners, starting from the second day of Eid for a week, according to the schedule adopted by the prison institution administrations.
The General Delegation called on the families of prisoners and their relatives to respect the organizational regulations and not to exploit this exceptional license to smuggle contraband, and it emphasizes that it will deal firmly with any violation, by taking legal measures against anyone proven to be involved in such violations, and disciplinary measures against the prisoners concerned, in order to ensure security and discipline within the prison institutions.
