In quick response to the calls of the residents of the "Miftah Al Sahel" residence in the Anza district of Agadir, the Wali of the Souss-Massa region, the Governor of the Agadir Ida Outanane prefecture, Said Amazazi, gave urgent instructions to form a mixed technical committee, following the recording of worrying cracks in a number of residential buildings within the residence.
According to the available data, these cracks appeared on the floors and facilities of some buildings, as a result of a water channel leak under the buildings, which raised a state of fear and anxiety among the residents, especially with regard to their physical safety and the possibility of the situation worsening. The residents of the residence had sent a direct letter to the Wali of the region, Said Amazazi, explaining the seriousness of the situation, which he responded to immediately, as a field technical committee was sent to assess the reality of the recorded damages. The committee began its work on Tuesday morning, by carefully inspecting the various facilities of the residence, while recording cases of ground subsidence, cracks and fissures in some facades and the infrastructure related to sanitation, pending further technical research to determine the real causes of these imbalances. In this context, it was decided to immediately start a comprehensive technical expertise that includes all the buildings of the residence, by an approved study office, in order to prepare a detailed report on the general situation of the buildings, and to determine the nature of the damages and ways to address them urgently. This rapid intervention left a great sense of satisfaction among the residents of "Miftah Al Sahel", who expressed their thanks and appreciation for the Wali of the region's interaction with their complaints, stressing that this step restored to them some of the reassurance in light of the fears that were controlling them. The expected results of the technical expertise are expected to determine responsibilities and take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of the residents, and address the recorded imbalances according to the standards adopted in the field of construction and urban planning.
