Mohamed Manfalouti – HIBAPRESS.
HIBAPRESS learned from its sources that 5 fires broke out today, Wednesday, in several agricultural crops in various communities belonging to the Settat province, consuming more than 10 hectares of agricultural land under circumstances that were the subject of investigation by the security elements of the Royal Gendarmerie in the Settat brigade.
Our sources added that the fire teams of the Civil Protection in the city of Settat were divided into groups that rushed to the fire locations in the communities of Oulad Said and Mzoura, and the community of Mzamza Southern, where they managed after great effort to extinguish the flames, the intensity of which was increased by the high temperatures.
HIBAPRESS had warned yesterday in a press article of the specter of fires that threatens the granary of Shawiya and its vibrant agricultural heart, due to the delay in the services of firefighters, sometimes as a result of the distance or the roughness of the paths or the weakness of logistics or the presence of its elements in other tasks outside the province, which often creates a kind of panic and confusion among the concerned farmers who are often forced to use primitive methods to extinguish the fires or contain them using tractors or some traditional water tankers, before the arrival of the civil protection elements.
This situation requires the concerned authorities to think about establishing temporary mobile fire teams that are ready near the vast agricultural areas that are likely to be exposed to the specter of fires.
