HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
The prices of "premium" charcoal intended for grilling have seen a noticeable increase as Eid al-Adha approaches, after the price of one kilogram of "premium lemon" moved from about 7 dirhams to nearly 20 dirhams at some points of sale, an increase that surprised a number of citizens, while the price of "premium Lekrouch" reached 15 dirhams in Casablanca.
This increase comes in conjunction with the increasing demand for the purchase of "premium" in preparation for Eid al-Adha, as it is one of the essential supplies for a large number of Moroccan families to prepare grilled dishes associated with this occasion.
Professionals believe that the increase in seasonal demand, along with transportation and distribution costs, is among the reasons that contributed to the rise in prices in recent days, especially with the increasing demand for various products associated with Eid.
Between the requirements of the "sheep" and the expenses of spices, charcoal, and other necessities of the occasion, the Eid al-Adha budget continues to put pressure on the purchasing power of a number of Moroccan families as the date of Eid approaches.
