HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
Employees in the Casablanca tramway and busway sectors have announced a 24-hour warning strike, scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026, to protest what they describe as a deterioration of professional and social conditions, and the persistence of several problems related to the management of the sector.
According to a professional statement issued by those concerned, this decision comes after the continued, in their words, disregard for fair professional and social demands, lack of serious interaction with previous correspondence and dialogues, in addition to the persistence of unresolved files without clear practical solutions. The statement affirmed that this form of protest falls within the framework of defending professional rights and improving working conditions, while emphasizing the need to establish a responsible and effective dialogue between the various concerned parties, leading to concrete solutions that guarantee stability within the sector. The users also called for opening the door to dialogue urgently and seriously, in order to overcome the existing state of tension and find realistic solutions that guarantee the continuity of public service in good conditions, while preserving the rights of workers. This strike comes in the context of escalating professional tension within the urban transport sector, especially at the level of Casablanca Tramway and Casabusway services, pending what the coming days will reveal in terms of interactions or initiatives for de-escalation between the concerned parties.
