HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
Cattle prices designated for slaughter are witnessing a noticeable increase with the approach of Eid al-Adha, with the prices of some "sacrifices" starting from 20,000 dirhams, amid increasing demand and the approaching date of the religious occasion.
The HIBAPRESS camera observed a disparity in prices according to breed, weight, and quality of the cattle. However, the common factor among the various markets remains the recording of increases compared to previous periods, which increases the pressure on families wishing to purchase an Eid sacrifice, whether sheep or cattle. A number of livestock farmers confirm that the costs of feed, transportation, and veterinary care contributed to the price increases, in addition to the increase in demand during the weeks preceding Eid, which is directly reflected in sale prices. With the ongoing discussion about the cost of Eid al-Adha this year, citizens continue to search for options that suit their purchasing power, while the market awaits what the last days before Eid will reveal in terms of changes in supply and prices.
