HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Baraka
The city of Oulad Teima, Taroudant province, witnessed this Friday evening, May 22nd, a serious traffic accident at the roundabout on Mohammed V Street, after a truck ran over a motorcycle driver, resulting in his injury with varying degrees of seriousness.
According to consistent data, the victim was quickly transported to the university hospital, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit due to the severity of his injuries, amid a state of medical alert. The incident brought back to the forefront the problem of heavy trucks passing through the city center, especially through narrow roundabouts, which constitute a black spot in traffic accidents. A number of observers confirm that these roundabouts have caused many fatal and serious accidents in recent years, due to the difficulty of maneuvering trucks and the narrowness of the road space. The residents of the city demand the need to expedite the establishment of a special passage for trucks outside the urban area, to avoid the recurrence of such tragedies, in light of the current situation that threatens the safety of road users on a daily basis. The eyes of the population remain directed towards the intervention of the concerned authorities to find practical and urgent solutions that balance the requirements of transport and road safety within the city.
