HIBAPRESS – c. Mahyaoui
Some weekly markets and commercial stores in the outskirts of the city of Meknes have, in recent hours, witnessed the circulation of news indicating a shortage or a sudden disappearance of "Eid sacrifices," which raised a state of concern and rush among a number of citizens wishing to purchase Eid Al-Adha supplies.
However, a special source confirmed to HIBAPRESS that what is being circulated in this regard is nothing more than rumors that have no basis in truth, explaining that the various markets are experiencing normal and continuous supply, and that the process of offering and selling "Eid sacrifices" is proceeding normally without recording any disturbances or shortages. The same source added that the local and security authorities are following the situation on the ground on a daily basis, by monitoring the normal functioning of the markets and ensuring respect for the conditions of organization and supply, as well as following the price situation, which it described as "reasonable and affordable for citizens," compared to the volume of demand recorded as Eid approaches. The source pointed out that some news circulating via social media contributed to creating a state of confusion among citizens, calling for the necessity of obtaining information from its official sources and avoiding being swayed by rumors that would affect the normal functioning of the markets. The livestock markets and points of sale of Eid supplies in a number of regions of the Fes-Meknes region are witnessing increasing commercial activity coinciding with the approach of Eid al-Adha, amid regulatory and organizational measures supervised by the competent authorities to ensure the supply of markets and maintain price stability.
